VCSEL Device Engineer

Description

Design and develop new VCSELs to support our client's fiber optic high-speed transceivers and other orthogonal markets. Responsibilities include using simulation tools to design next generation state-of-the-art VCSELS; plan experiments for device development; characterize test structures and prototype devices. Lead product development effort to meet new product introduction targets for performance and yield.

Qualifications
Ph.D. in Solid-State Physics, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Solid command of laser device physics and optoelectronic devices.
Four or more years of extensive experience with semiconductor lasers including device design, simulation, and device characterization.
Excellent analytical skills and physical intuition.
Experience troubleshooting device performance.
Independent, self-starter who can communicate well and effectively utilize input from a larger team.

Preferred experience:
Four or more years of hands on VCSEL experience.
New product introduction (R&D to manufacturing) experience
Hands on III-V semiconductor device fabrication experience.
Ability to travel occasionally (<10%) to manufacturing facilities in Singapore.
